The Old Schoolhouse- Bristol’s Hope
Bristol’s Hope, formerly called Mosquito, is located in Conception Bay on NL’s Avalon Peninsula. This old wooden schoolhouse (built in 1820) is an example of what a one-room (K-11) school in outport Newfoundland looked like in the 1800’s. Although many repairs have been made to it, it still stands today and is used for social events by the people of the community. In 1988 this schoolhouse was declared a Registered Heritage structure.
